Absolute Beginner Accordion (Child)

This half hour class is aimed at younger learners who are absolute beginners to accordion. We have a small supply of accordions which we can loan out, and Orkney Music and Culture have an instrument bank to loan out also. Participants of this class will learn to read basic musical notation such as note names and lengths, a good playing technique and basic care and maintenance of their instrument. This will allow them to read and play simple pieces of music on the keyboard and simple chords on the button part of the accordion. Below is an example of a tune which will be learned at this level.
